What's going on? (News, new year, and what's coming)

The scary, daunting, completely awesome plans I've got for this year.

New years can be tricky things. I don't know about you, but it always takes me a little while to get my bearings.

Am I going to spontaneously become a neat and tidy person, who has a place for everything and everything in its place?

Oh, not a chance.

I used to believe some kind of organizational metamorphosis would overtake me at the start of every year. I'd match every sock and fold all my unmentionables. I'd ascend to some level of creative machine that would regularly spit out a book every 3-4 months.

But I've had to accept my truth: I'm kinda messy. Sometimes, I can get my ducks lined up and walking into their pond... and sometimes I have ferrets eating a couch. Sometimes I can walk myself through books in an orderly manner, and and sometimes I just have to embrace the chaos.

2025 is going to be WILD.

First, I have to find a new process. Body slamming myself into burnout with harsh deadlines is not best practice, nor is forcing myself to rush through stories that want a little more time.

What this looks? Honestly, I'm still figuring it out.

Right now I think it looks like continuing to write my Pandora Strain series at a slower pace -- I really love sharing these stories a chapter at a time with my newsletter, and I missed that with The Pandora Strain. So we're going back to the serial format for the zombie-verse... even if it takes a bit longer than anyone would like. I'm also making room for new things. It means trying stuff and going to book cons and meeting readers.

And I want you to be part of it.

If I'm going to a con in your area I would absolutely love to meet you. But I know that's not in the cards for everyone. So guess what?

Beyond events, WE'RE GOING ON A BOOK ADVENTURE.

I'm going to write a whole, heaping pile of opening chapters.

How many? Oh, I don't know. But when I do, and they're done, I'm going to share them with you, so you can let me know your favorites. Basically, we're going to play mad story scientists together.

I'm also planning to finally (finally!) get my act together and make sure every single one of my books will have a print version you can enjoy

Happily, the print version for The Pandora Strain is now alive on Amazon! I remain hopeful the other providers will get there soon.

Annnd *drum roll please* I've even started working on some illustrated SPECIAL EDITIONS

Also -- I miss you. I want to get my newsletter back to its intended schedule of every second Tuesday (PST) in your inbox. Most of these will still feature art and antics of Fable The Greatest Dane. Most will have a chapter to share, once I get that going again.

But sometimes... well, sometimes we're going to get wild. I want this letter to be as fun to read as it is to write. And I'm hoping we all have a great year.

Luv,
Dee
