When BIG meets SMOL (and how to be trapped with zombies and a teacup poodle)

What would happen if Schroddie the Great Dane met Peri the Teacup...

I imagine it would go a lot like the meeting between Fable's predecessor (and the inspiration for Schrodinger) and a baby chihuahua a coworker had brought to the office.

<cue scene=""> The Great Dane lumbers casually into the room, unaware he's about to meet a tiny overlord and future bestie. He stops. His head tilts. </cue>

From across the room, there is a small bark. A soft scrambling sound, almost like toothpicks on polished floor, reaches the Dane. Then something the size of a fluffy scone scurries out from between two workstations.

It is the tiniest dog in the world (aka a teacup). It has zero fear and heads straight for the Dane, miniscule puffed tail wagging furiously.

Schroddie's head shoots up. He looks up at his mom with a face that clearly says: What the heck is this thing?

"It's a dog, buddy."

His brow wrinkles -- clearly he's unconvinced - but he lowers his head to dutifully sniff the strange creature. His eyes widen and he rears back to stare at his mom: Whoa, mom, it IS a doggo.

The fluff yips and drops into a doggie pounce.

Concerns vanished, Schroddie mirrors the action. His big tail sweeps the air.

The little dog wiggles its rear, inviting play.

Schroddie lifts his paw in response and... he freezes. The tiny dog has vanished! He lowers his pay and OH, THERE IT IS! He lifts his paw to continue play and, whoa, the dog has disappeared again

The paw lowers, and somehow the tiny dog reappears. Schroddie is perplexed! But he's also game. So he valiantly tries again...

This goes on for at least ten minutes.

In the end, both dogs never quite manage to play, and yet they both have a great time and look forward to visiting each other every week at the office.

And yes, this exact meeting happened between Fable's predecessor and a teacup chihuahua puppy. I wish I'd gotten it on video!

Speaking of videos, I hope July is treating you well and that those of us enjoying summer are having some well-deserved breaks.

I'm also thrilled to have the second chapter in The Pandora Strain -- and I hope you're ready to be on the edge of your seat.

Luv,
Dee
